In its third season, Team EarthLink has become one of the top adventure racing teams in the world. The adventure team, sponsored by one of the nation’s leading Internet service providers, continues to rack up impressive finishes at top races around the country and the world, including a 4th place finish at the Eco-Challenge New Zealand 2001, winning the 2002 Cal-Eco Adventure Series and Finals, placing 4th at the 2002 Ford Gorge Games, and claiming a close 2nd at the Balance Bar Series race in Boston this August.

Team EarthLink has claimed its place among adventure racing’s elite as they enter the world’s toughest adventure race, the Eco-Challenge (www.ecochallenge.com), to be held in Fiji this October.

EarthLink’s four veterans, who, collectively, have more than 20 years of adventure racing experience, have become experts at the featured disciplines of jungle trekking, ocean paddling, swimming and coasteering, mountain biking, river kayaking and packrafting, canyoneering, fixed ropes and navigation. As they approach the starting line in Fiji, the team will depend on their experience, physical strength and stamina, and their team work to help push them to the front of the pack and lead the charge through the lush and rugged Fijian islands.
